Maybe you have a couple more questions to know if we are a good fit…finding the best therapist for you can be a big decision.
Below are the most commonly asked questions and hopefully you find what you are looking for. If not, no problem! Go ahead and fill out the contact form and we can set up a free 15 minute consultation where I can answer any questions you may have.
How long does therapy last?
The duration of therapy depends on the person and the goals you have. Some people feel relief in just a few sessions, while others may require long term therapy. I will help you come up with a strategy that is right for you based on your individual goals and needs. I want you to see progress as soon as possible so you can start living a happy, healthier life.
How will I know if therapy is helping?
Every person’s progress in therapy is unique, but there are ways to tell if it’s effective. You will become more aware of yourself, learn new ways to manage stress, gain control over your emotions, or alter the way you think and behave. It may also be the case that you learn to deal with stress or people in a different way as time goes by. It can be helpful for us to meet regularly to evaluate your progress and make changes to the treatment plan if necessary.
I want to get the most out of therapy. What can I do to help?
I am so glad you are dedicated to getting the most out of your sessions. Your active participation and dedication will be crucial to your success. Each session I will provide ‘homework’ and if you work on that between sessions you will see results.
How do I know Anxiety Therapy will work for me?
My 10+ years of practicing and personal experience has shown me that therapy is something everyone can benefit from if they are open to it. My approach targets anxiety from several different areas (cognitively, physiologically, and physically being present) which provides relief to most people in at least one capacity if not all. The best part, all of this is backed by science and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is an evidenced based practice.
What are teen therapy sessions like? Will my parents know what we talk about?
Parents are welcome to come to the initial session to provide context of behaviors or expectations. After that sessions will be spent with the teen to keep the teen’s confidentiality. The parents will be kept informed of the overall goals and progress and if there is a threat to safety.
What are self-esteem and confidence building sessions like?
First we will identify where and why self-esteem is lacking. Then we create a plan on how to heal and why it is important so you can develop the skills to love yourself. We will use several strategies that target your negative thoughts, as well as implement exposure techniques to provide experiences that other people can enjoy spending time with you.
How do I know you will be able to increase my confidence and feel better about myself?
You came here for a reason. You don’t like the way you are feeling and want to change. That tells me you are motivated and want to work on yourself. I also believe there are great things about you. Together we will find these things and help you believe them.
How do we get started?

Give me a call or text if you have more questions about what therapy will look like or want to get to know me better. Another option is to email me or click the button below to see the next available appointment on my schedule.

Why go private pay instead of using insurance for therapy?
Sessions are more confidential when paying for therapy privately versus using insurance. It allows us to have more freedom in the therapy process. Insurance companies demand a mental health diagnosis and may only allow a certain number of sessions and certain forms of treatment. With private pay, we can decide what kind of treatment is best without a limit and our records will not be shared with insurance companies.
